Renter's qualification
To rent a car from CarGo, you must :
The renters aged between 21-22 will be subject to Young Drivers Supercharge by paying the amount of 20.00€ daily.
General terms
The renter shall take care to have the vehicle in good condition. He must check the oil and water during the rental. Also he must pay for the cost of gasoline.
The lessor shall not be responsible for damage to any property left or stored or transported by renter or other person in, or upon the vehicle before, during or after the rental or after the return of the vehicle to the lessor's office.
The lessor whilst taking all precautions and using its best efforts to prevent such happenings shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from any fault or defect in or from machine damage of the vehicle or any consequential damage.
Vehicle shall not be used :
Customers are responsible and shall pay for parking and traffic violations.
In case of accident or any other incident the customer is responsible to follow the insurance procedure as set out below :
Renters of 23 years of age or less, are fully responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle.
We are not obliged for any refund be for rental agreement.
Any damage on the car caused by the renter (his/her own responsibility) and up to the amount of 800€ + 23% Taxes, are not covered by any insurance.
The car radio - tape recorder - cd, constitutes additional charge of money deposit. A refund of money (any way of payment) will be returned for the car radio - tape recorder - cd, when the car radio - tape recorder - cd is back.
The car radio - tape recorder - cd & charging extras are not covered by any insurance.
Renter releases and hold lessor harmless for all claims for loss or direct or indirect damages to renter or any third parties, at any time before, during or after this rental.
Vehicle collection
When collecting the vehicle all renters need to bring :
The renter must return the car with the same amount of fuel that it had when rent. In case the car is returned with a lesser amount of fuel, the customer will be charged with the difference plus 10€ for refueling fees. No refund will be given if the car is returned with more fuel than it had when rent.
When collecting the vehicle, the renter will be given a Rental Agreement which he has to check and sign. The Rental Agreement will show all services and insurances provided as well as any extra services and insurances that the renter might request with their relevant charges. It is very important that the renter checks and reports any means of damages on the vehicle in order to avoid any charges regarding damages caused by a previous renter. The renter has to sign at collection and delivery a form for damages on the vehicle.
Collision Damage Waiver (C.D.W)
A limitation to the renter's responsibility for his legal share in any damage of the vehicle to 800,00€ is provided, given that traffic laws were not contravened (i.e. violation of red light or STOP sign, illegal overtaking, driving under the influence of alcohol etc).
Definitely are excluded from "C.D.W." any damages or losses on tires, wheel covers or rims, windshields and the side windows, sound systems (RCD, DVD) antennas, instruments as the below part of the vehicle unless are caused in continuation of an accident. Also, interior of the vehicle is not covered by any insurance (burnt, torn or dirty upholstery).
*None of the above insurances cover damages caused by violation of the Greek traffic Law, as well as damages to tires, mirrors, car parts underneath the vehicle and in the cabin.
It is noted that the renter is fully responsible for every damage caused by the vehicle if it is driven by a driver who does not have a valid driving license, or a driver who is driving drunk or intoxicated or by a vehicle which is used ia a different way than the one described in the agreement and in the car's registration license.
Theft Protection (T.P.)
If the renter accepts and signs the relative contract terms, he disposes of the responsibility for the theft of the car by paying the additional daily charge of 6,00E for car group Small, 8,00E for car group Medium, 14,00E for car groups Family and SUV.
Theft Protection is not valid in case of driver's negligence.
Personal Accident Insurance (P.A.I)
This insurance, optionally available for only 5,00E per day, covers the driver for death, total and partial disability up to 15.000,00€.
Collection / Delivery
Extra Charges Minimum rental
One day (24 hours). Every rental hour will be charged with 1/5 of the daily rate.
Additional driver (A.D.)
Extra charge for each additional driver : 3,00€ per day.
Incident Administration Fee
In case of an accident due to the renters liability, renter has the obligation to pay a non refundable fee of 15,00€ in order to cover administration expenses.
Administration Fee for fines
The renter is liable for the payment of all traffic fines that may occur during car rental. In case the renter does not pay the fine(s) and CarGo intervenes to the procedure, there will be an Administration Fee for the fine of 20,00€ additional to the fine's cost.
Loss or damage of the key
In case of loss or damage of the key during the rental, the renter is liable for the following charges :
60,00€ for car groups Small and Medium, and 200,00€ for car groups Family and SUV.
Sales and use taxes on the rental or the amount charged by the lessor as reimbursement for sales and use taxes on the use of the vehicle.
Lessor's cost, including attorney's fees, delay interest incurred in collecting payments due from renter or collecting the vehicle from renter, under the agreement.
Car cabin
In case the renter returns the vehicle and it's cabin has stains which require special cleaning procedure (i.e. animal hair, sand etc on car seats or car floor or port baggage etc), he will have to pay the amount of 80,00€.
Ferrying the car
It is forbidden without an advance written authorization from CarGo. In case of ferrying the car the renter has to return the car to the pick-up station, otherwise all transportation costs will be charged to the renter.
Across the border rental
An advanced written authorization from CarGo is required as well as a vali personal credit card for guarantee. The cost for issuing the Green card and International Road Assistance will be paid by the renter.
Rental extension
If the renter wants to keep the vehicle longer than the contracted period, he will have to contact the CarGo station in order to extend his Rental Agreement.
Payment
CarGo accepts the following credit cards : Visa, American Express, Diners Club, Mastercard. In case renter chooses the payment method of credit card for reservations through internet, VISA and MASTECARD is only available. In case renter chooses the payment method of cash the Reservation Department will ask for the rental prepayment either with a credit card or bank transfer, before car delivery.
To pay for your reservation from our websiteyou can use VISA or MASTERCARD or DINERS of any Bank. The security of transactions with your debit / credit card is ensured in cooperation with Piraeus Bank. If you choose to pay by debit / credit card you should follow the instructions in our online store. Carefully fill in the order form, the number and the expiration date of your credit card. With your choice you lead to a secure encrypted site of Piraeus Bank with which our site is contracted where you complete your transaction.

All traffic fines resulting from violation of the Greek traffic Law are for renter's account. Rates & Conditions may change without notice.
The Chania Crete Courts of Law are responsible for resolving any problems or doubts of service that might occur.
